About me and my art.

I am an art quilter, using paint, textures and non-traditional quilting techniques. I love to teach!

“If These Stones Could Talk” (24″ x 60″) Shown at the International AQS Spring Paducah Show, 2017. Raw-edged Fused Applique, Hand painted, Free-Motion stitching.

I have a seriously joyful relationship with fabric and the natural
world. My vision is to capture the beauty of nature and power of
good design. I revel in color and rejoice in texture, movement,
luminosity and the illusion of transparency – using paints, fibers, folded raw-edged fabric applique, beading, fabric
confetti, thread sketching, free-motion
quilting and 3-D fabric motifs as needed,
to bring life to each unique creation.

MONARCH OF THE MOUNTAIN II (Best)
Custom order “Monarch of the Mountain” – now in a private collection.

My focus is to combine fibers, paints, thread sketching and embellishments to create texturally rich and beautifully colorful art quilts, featuring landscapes, Celtic Knots and themes from nature.

I also find connection to and inspiration from quilters from the past, in my work restoring antique quilts.

And, in items such as potholders, coasters, and placemats, function and aesthetics are combined. In other ords: “No potholder is too pretty to use!”
